We’ll explain the new legislation and Care Leaver Offer statutory guidance, what they mean for local connection and priority, and give you practical tools to challenge decisions and make sure the care leavers you support receive the housing priority they are entitled to. Martha Cover, Associate Member of Coram Chambers, will explain the legal duties, how decisions can be challenged and the responses you may encounter from housing authorities.

We’ll also tell the story of how the law came to be changed. We’ll hear from Tay, whose experience became the case study behind the campaign for legislative change, and Davina, who was part of our group that took the issue to Downing Street.
